What really happens in a session?
I offer a safe, supportive, inspiring and transformative breathing space where you can let go of long-standing trauma and limiting beliefs that are holding you back from living a full, vibrant and deeply satisfying life. Each session is unique and different for everyone and will subject to your own needs and own personal life encounters. This is the perfect session for shutting old doors and releasing old ties so you can invigorate or rejuvenate yourself physically, emotionally and mentally. Through encouraging counselling and gentle yet powerful techniques, this is a heart-to-heart session and will allow you to courageously embrace life and unleash your limitless and true potential.
I always think it is a good idea to enter into any kind of experience without too many preconceived notions or expectations. Of course, that doesn’t mean you can’t help but feel perhaps a little sceptical nervous or apprehensive, especially when the experience alone can gently knock down your walls and leave you feeling pretty vulnerable and uncertain. You will be welcomed with a warm embrace to make you feel at ease, even when I have to hand you a box of tissues during a session; it’s for the good kind of tears, to get all the trapped emotions released. Just embrace the moment.
So, what is Mind Activation really about? Once we are settled into comfortable chairs facing one another, I will explain a bit about what the session would look like, assuring you it will be unique for each person, depending on what you want to work on and how deep you want to dive. The work is gentle and non-intrusive, yet it is powerful enough to unearth emotions and events that have been bottled up for a long, long time. ‘The session focuses on releasing traumas that you have experienced in the past as well as restrictive beliefs you may have accumulated through your lifetime, and values and ways of thinking that you have taken on, but perhaps are no longer true and are not serving you, but are rather holding you back from living a fulfilled life.
The first part of the session revolves around counselling, but I see it more as exploring: ‘We need to first look at what the issues are on the surface, and then dig a little deeper to find their roots and what the real cause is. We will, then work on addressing this, and not just how these things tend to materialize on the surface level.
It is a good idea to enter the session with some kind of topic, issue or theme in your life that you would like to work on or improve on in some way or shape. It could be about relationships-romance, friendships, family or your connection with yourself. It could be any area of your life where you have limiting beliefs- finances, body image, self-worth, work, goals, health wherever you may feel ‘stuck’ and unable to move forward. It can also be to heal from addiction or medical disease or disorder.
It is quite common to enter the session without a clear theme or topic and simply see where the session goes and what appears. We ALL have healing work to do! And it never ends. We are constantly having to work on ourselves and heal ourselves in order to really connect to the present moment in time and everything that it may offer. The work is never ‘done’ but once we are aware of the way our mind or subconscious works, we can transform things quickly and prevent repeating old patterns or getting stuck and feeling helpless in contrast to our life path.’
A lot of our ‘trauma’ in our present life is deep-rooted and often comes from our childhood or adolescence. Chances are, we are not even aware of the subconscious thoughts and beliefs that we have and just how much they impact (and potentially sabotage!) our present reality.
Some clients enter the session with a topic they wanted to discuss, yet on the whole, admitted to feeling really happy and grateful in their life. The session is to connect the dots between the area of your life that you feel as lacking and a belief system that you weren’t even aware that you had deeply established- one that was certainly holding you back in a number of ways.
You will experience so many multiple insights and ‘ah-ha!’ moments during the 2 hour session, and while some of it will be emotional and tender, the greater part of the session will be incredibly inspiring, empowering and motivating. When we feel ‘stuck’ in an area of our life, or when we keep repeating patterns over and over that we know don’t serve us, we feel powerless to create change, and this can be incredibly frustrating and disempowering. Discovering the root cause of these issues and discovering ways to shift and change your mindset allows you to feel in control of your life, rather than a victim of it.
Facing these thoughts and beliefs occurs on two levels. Firstly on a practical level, I will offer actionable steps and tasks for you to work on, or what I refer to as ‘homework!’ Secondly and only if you are open and willing, I will guide you to work on these concerns on a deeper level, working to alter these subconscious beliefs, tending to old wounds, and opening up new channels to create new experiences, values and beliefs to thrive on.
I will assist you to address these areas in your life and to discover joy, balance and a deep sense of happiness and a sense of belonging. I don’t want you feeling as though you were simply ‘broken’ or that trying again was simply wasted time. Once you can see the real cause of what have been holding you back. You will feel really excited to start again from a new place of courage, knowledge, confidence and surety.
The healing component of the session is phenomenal and it’s a different experience for each of us. What I will say is that it is very simple yet incredibly powerful, it is entirely non-intrusive, and it is emotional ‘in the good kind of way!’ Not only will you feel emotions on a physical level, you can also genuinely feel emotional blocks within you being cleared, you might even feel walls that you had built up around you for many years start to crumble down, and you will feel a deep-rooted weight that you hadn’t even been aware of, start to lift off. You will leave feeling lighter, liberated, and in control. Some say that they feel a sense of vulnerability and openness that was entwined with confidence and courage.
Of course, we are creatures of habit, we cling to routine, we crave safety, comfort and security. And for this reason the work doesn’t end here- it is a continuous journey to heal and to invest in ourselves and these areas of our life. The ideal is for you to finish off the session with a newfound commitment to this deeper self-work. It’s easy to live a lifetime on the surface, but we miss out on so, so much. All we have is each moment, and when we live in the past or we project into the future, we never get to fully experience and enjoy the present.
There is no future. It’s only now. So let’s live life with an open heart and create beautiful connections and moments.
